FACULTY and FRIENDS DEATHS

Cecil Edgar Howes, 5/29/98. Howes was head of the university's Poultry Science Department from in the 1958-1975. He was instrumental in founding the Council of Agriculture, Science, and Technology.

Edward "Eddie" Ferrell, 8/29/98. Ferrell, newly appointed director of student life in the athletic department, had been head football trainer for 19 seasons. He held a post with the Minnesota Vikings before coming to Virginia Tech in 1970.
