Letters to the EditorI enjoyed the articles in the Fall 2000 issue (vol. 23, no. 1) on "Virginia Tech's Greatest Generation" and "Memorial Director Breathes Life into Vision." The latter is particularly memorable to me. During my youth, I lived near the north side of the mountain where the memorial is located. I played "cowboys and Indians," among other games, there. Several of the men who were killed on D-Day were my classmates in grade school, and one was a cousin. The memorial is indeed a fitting monument to those who died on that day. Jack H. Virginia Tech Magazine incorrectly reported in the vol. 23, no. 1 issue that for the first time one person had won two awards for advising student organizations. At least one other person has won both awards. Karen Cronin received the double recognition for the 1995-96 academic year. We regret these errors. |
