Cover photo | The GigaPixel Display Laboratory, hosted by the Department of Computer Science and the Center for Human-Computer Interaction, is an NSF-funded facility that serves as a test bed for exploring the design of future human interfaces and as a resource for visualization and analysis of large amounts of data. The cover image is a 100-million pixel, 16’ by 6’ display composed of 50 tiled 20” LCD monitors controlled by a networked cluster of 25 computers. Many thanks to Chris North, the laboratory’s director, and Chris Andrews, a graduate student in computer science and application, for the use of the display in creating the cover image.
