Each year, members of the corps of cadets retrace the steps of Virginia Tech's first student, Addison Caldwell. This spring, they were joined by two adventurous authors: Homer Hickam '64, author of October Sky, and Virginia Tech Magazine's own Clara B. Cox M.A. '84.

Today's Virginia Tech is finding ways to embrace the fine arts. The Department of English--home to some of the country's best writers--recently launched a master of fine arts in creative writing program, which stands to be nationally ranked in five years.
